Kelly S. Mcentire

May 14, 1951 — December 6, 2016

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kelly S. McEntire, age 65, at his home in Firth, Idaho on December 6, 2016.

A loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and Utah native. Kelly grew up in Far West and attended Weber High School where he met his love and future wife Janice Selander McEntire, who passed away unexpectedly in 1996. Together they built a home and dedicatedly raised their three children in Huntsville, Utah before he ultimately moved to Idaho to remain close to some of his adult children.

Kelly was an avid runner for much of his adult life, running many races with his children and wife (including the St. George Marathon) until back issues prevented him from continuing his passion. He took great pride in the history and natural beauty of his home state, constantly taking his children around the state to explore its small towns, natural parks and monuments.
With a straight forward and somewhat dry wit, Kelly passed many of his personality traits on to his children….more than they probably realize and definitely more than they would like to admit.

Kelly is survived by his daughter Emily, sons Chad and Jake, his three grandchildren Eli, Hagen and Cash, and many direct and extended family members who will always keep him alive in their hearts.

Friends and family are welcome at a memorial service to reminisce, remember and celebrate Kelly’s life from 12:30 to 2:30 on Saturday December 10, 2016 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 S. Washington Boulevard. A short graveside dedication will be held directly after at three P.M. at the Huntsville cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
