Raylene Dick

June 23, 1950 — March 2, 2018

Raylene Everett Dick, 67, passed away surrounded by family and friends at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls on March 2, 2018.

Raylene was born June 23, 1950 at the Eaton Maternity Home in Shelley, Idaho to Ray and Maxine Everett. She grew up on the family farm in Woodville and attended school in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School in 1968. Raylene loved school and it showed as she carried a 4.0 GPA, received many honors and helped many of her fellow students graduate. Due to her academic success, she was selected to tour Europe with a local student group from South East Idaho after graduation. She returned from her summer abroad to attend Ricks college and received her associates degree.

After college she moved to Middleton, Idaho to help on the family farm and during this time was briefly married and had her son Cory. Raylene moved back to the Idaho Falls area in mid 70s and began working at Boise Cascade in the early 80’s. She worked there for over 15 years and during this time, she met the love of her life and eternal companion Steven Terry Dick. They were married on Dec. 6, 1985 and she gained two daughters Diana and Teri. She loved being called “Bonus Mom.” Steve and Raylene were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 3, 2000.

Raylene was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many callings in Relief Society, Primary and Young Women’s. Out of all her callings her favorite was being a Visiting Teacher, even reaching out to her sisters while she was at Life Care in her final days. Raylene was the type of friend that engaged everyone she met and put a smile on their face. She loved to read, go on trips, spend time with her family especially her grandkids. Often, she was found on the floor playing toys with them. She enjoyed camping and day trips driving around the nature scenes of Idaho. She liked to crochet and work on humanitarian projects. Raylene reached out and helped many friends and people she didn’t know in need and taught her children through example that life is about service to each other. She was always positive and kind even in her toughest trials, especially with this last courageous battle of cancer. Her last words were “Thank You” to the nurse and staff at Life Care.

She will be greatly missed by her surviving family and friends, which includes; Her husband Steve, daughter Diana Thompson of Idaho Falls, son Cory (Camille) Meyer of Shelley and daughter Teri (Heston) Huntsman of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by her father Ray Everett of Parma and sister Kathleen (Lloyd) Chadburn of Bone, Idaho, her mother-in- law Beth Dick and her best friends Bernae Wilding and Donna Boyce. Raylene also leaves behind the six most pride and joys in her life, her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Everett and father-in-law Bill Dick.

The family wishes to thank, the staff of Teton Cancer Institute, the Idaho Kidney Center, EIRMC and especially the Nurses and Staff at Life Care Center that treated her like family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Parkwood Ward Chapel (395 2nd Street) in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 6:30 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) Shelley and Friday from 10:00 till 10:45 A.M. at the church.
