I was welcomed to Idaho as a new Red Cross executive director in June of 2002. Being new to the region, Mike was a wonderful mentor and friend. He opened many doors for me to build community relationships that I cherish. He always had a story and a smile to brighten my sometimes long days. With a see you next time, and fond farewell wave over his shoulder, he'd go into dinner when I dropped him off at the end of a visit or event. His friendship is something I will always carry in my heart. His years of Red Cross service are an honor to the organization and the people and State of Idaho.
