He was born in Shelley, Idaho on June 9, 1928 to Earl George and Effie Russell White. He was one of 12 children. He was raised in Shelley, Idaho and attended school there. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy and served our country for 2 years.

After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife and they enjoyed many winters in Blythe, California where he met and made many friends as he always had the knack of doing.

He loved many things in life, but family was his number one priority. He loved their mine in Challis, Idaho. He enjoyed horse shoes, eating ice cream and popcorn, giving whisker burns to his grandchildren, and taking walks holding his sweethearts hand.

He was survived by his wife, Elizabeth Anne White of Shelley, Idaho. I admired them both and the love they shared. He will be missed and the world will be a smaller place without him. Our love goes out to Elisabeth and the whole family.

Grampa we will all miss you very much. I will miss your constant smile , your generous nature , and the way a stranger would become a life-long friend within minutes of meeting the two of you. I know you are smiling down on us with what I am sure is a stadium full of friends and family who left before. I miss you but I know you are safe and happy and that is enough to make me feel at peace with it.

Elizabeth and family, it truly sadden me to read the notice of Leon It was only yesterday that my family lived down the street. It was only yesterday smelling the aroma of fresh baked bread coming from Elizabeth's kitchen It was only yesterday Leon was making room to work on my old pickup or one of my cars because I needed a new something or other or just a simple oil change It was only yesterday and I will never forget the honesty and kindness of this man and his family. From the Fellows family our thoughts and prayers are with you.
