Michael Vern Jensen, 67, died December 28, 2009 at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was born February 26, 1942, in Shelley, Idaho to Edgar and Beulah Jensen.
He attended Shelley schools and graduated from Shelley High School in 1960.
He lived all his life surrounded by his family in Shelley and Idaho Falls. He started farming shortly after high school and continued throughout the remainder of his life with a desire to establish a family business in farming. He was involved in Future Farmers of America, Farm Bureau, and Idaho Potato Growers. He was a member of a Bowling League, was a Life Scout, and later became a member of the Elk's Lodge.
In 1962, he married Ann Nita Rumsey in Woodville, Idaho and later divorced.
Survivors include his three sons: Brian M. Jensen of Hillsboro, OR; Kelly R. Jensen of Gilbert, AZ; Jared J. Jensen of Phoenix, AZ; and a daughter Jodi A. Harper of Salt Lake City, UT; one brother Douglas C. Jensen of Lumberton, TX; one sister Lori Empey of Idaho Falls, ID; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Jacqueline and Delores.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00am at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak in Shelley. Family will visit with friends from 9:30am to 10:40pm before services. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Jensen. I became friends with Mike's sons in high school and we shared some very memorable times. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to the Jensen family during this difficult time.
