In Loving Memory
Bobbie Glen Thompson
 - 3/11/2010

Bobbie Glen Thompson, 75, of Shelley, passed away March 11, 2010 at his home.

He was born January 24, 1935 at his grandma’s home in Shelley to Glen and Fontella Mitchell Thompson.  His mother had been sick, so when he was born he weighed three and a half pounds.  They put him in a shoe box and placed the box on the oven door to keep him warm.  He had Neurofibous, as did his mother and sister, Shirlene.

He went to the first grade in Pocatello, then moved to Downey for a few years, then lived in Arimo for 10 years.  He then moved to Shelley with his parents.

Bob married Joyce Lynn Rowberry on July 9, 1965 in the Idaho Falls temple.

He served in the United States Army.  He was stationed in Korea in 1959.  He also served in the National Guard.

He worked at French’s, Pillsbury, and retired from Basic American Foods after 43 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He loved to go fishing and hunting which brought a lot of joy to his life.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Shelley; two daughters, Suzan LeeAnn Thompson and Jennifer Leigh Thompson both of Shelley; a son, Bryan Glen Thompson of Boise; two sisters, Betty Fon (Lenny) Chow of Boise; and Doris De Roco Kelley of Shelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirlene Burk.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday March 15, 2010 at the Shelley 10th Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East) in Woodville with Bishop Bob Butler conducting. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Monday 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. before the services at the church.  Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Nalder Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
