Afton Irene Reeder

Afton Irene Reeder, 68, of Firth passed away June 11, 2007 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born September 22, 1938 in Shelley, Idaho to Lewis Clyde Eaton and Laura Irene Franck Eaton.  She grew up and attended elementary school in Basalt and graduated from Firth High School.

She married Robert Hansen in 1956, they later divorced.  On October 19, 1966 she married Kenneth Dean Reeder in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  They recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in the Mutual as a teacher, the Relief Society as a chorister and teacher, and in the Primary as president, counselor, chorister, and teacher.

She enjoyed singing and playing the piano; reading, traveling, camping, spending time with her family and attending Firth High School sports events.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth D. Reeder of Firth, children; William (Brenda) Reeder of Taylorsville, Utah, Bob (Jana) Hansen of Montpelier, Karl (Jolene) Reeder of Ammon, Steven Reeder of Shelley, Dena Tomchak of Rigby, Serena (Ted Weeks) Hansen of Blackfoot, Dianna Crezee of Ammon, Mark (Teresa) Reeder of Firth, Debbie (David) Diaz of Wapello, Kellie (Joel) Gray of Ucon, Matthew (Becky) Reeder of Boise, 39 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, five sisters; Doris Gentillon, Joyce Ringer, Clydene Collet, Barbara Jensen, and Sharon Brantley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 16th at the Kimball Ward Chapel (744 North 600 East) in Firth. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday morning 9:30 till 10:45 at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
