Angus Edward Miles

September 25, 1920 — July 20, 2008

Angus Edward Miles, 87, of Shelley, passed away July 20, 2008 at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation in Idaho Falls.

He was born September 25, 1920 in Basalt, Idaho to Arthur William and Ada Jane Neibaur Miles. On January 24, 1942 he married Norma Conder in Basalt, Idaho.  They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

He served in the Navy during WWII in the Medical Corps and was discharged in 1946.  He was employed by Idaho Potato Growers, Western Farmers and Idaho Supreme.  He farmed in Goshen where he raised livestock, potatoes, beets, grain, hay, and children.

He loved his family and his church above all else.  He taught his children, grandchildren, and even his great grandchildren a love for the outdoors by sharing with them his love for hunting and fishing.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving in many positions.

He is survived by his wife Norma Miles of Shelley; children, Ron (Eudora) Miles of Shelley; Marvin (Michelle) Miles of Blackfoot; Beverly (Kendall) Matheson of Layton, UT; Wesley (Joanne) Miles of Seattle, WA; Jenada (Regan) Longhurst of Bountiful, UT; sister, Wilma (Mart) Madsen of Idaho Falls; brother, Richard (Shakigo) Miles of Marina, CA, 30 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and one great grandson.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 24, 2008 at the Goshen Ward Chapel (792 North 1090 East) with Bishop Bill Brown conducting. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and 10:00 till 10:45 A.M. before the services at the church.  Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion Post 93 from Shelley.
