Barbra Rose Rich

of Shelley passed away peacefully in her home Saturday June 30, 2012 surrounded by her family.

Barbra was born January 8, 1934 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Clyde Rose and Mable Ann Singleton Rose.

She grew up in St. Anthony where she became lifetime friends with Carla, Margie, Bernice, Clayta and GaeNell.  She graduated from South Fremont High in 1952.

On September 4, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Clayton Eugene Rich of Parker in the Salt Lake Temple.  They settled in Idaho Falls and then in Shelley where they raised 5 children.

She has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings including president of the Relief Society and Young Women organizations.

Her greatest joy in life came as she devoted her time, love and energy as wife, mother and grandmother.  She is greatly loved by her husband, children and grandchildren who have so many fond memories of time she spent with them.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clayton; and their five children, son: Douglas Clayton Rich (Windsor, CA); daughters: Raylene (Kent) Brinker, Shelley, ID; Alese (David) Arbon, Draper, UT; Arnae (Scott) Hillam, Shelley, ID; Jozette (Percy) Anderson, Shelley, ID; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, twin sister Bellva (Keith) Hansen, Rexburg, ID; brother, Neal A. Rose (Bonnie), Saugus, CA; sister-in-law Mary Rose, Temecula, CA; two step-sisters-in-law: Bernice Powell and Beverly Hathaway.

Preceded in death by father: Clyde Rose, mother: Mable Ann Singleton Rose Hathaway, sister and brother-in-law: Betty & Jay Benson, brother: Robert Rose, step-father: Haden Hathaway, 4 step-brothers: Phil, Tom, Bud and J. Elmo Hathaway, 1 step-sister: Agnes Newby.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the many doctors and nurses who have treated her so gently and kindly.

Friends and family may gather Friday, July 6

, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7

th

  at 11am at the LDS Woodville Chapel (1555 N 700 E) with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at the Parker Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

Grandma, we treasure you, the love you have given, the lessons you‘ve taught us.  We love you so very much and miss you dearly!
