Beatrice Papke

Beatrice Way Papke, 87, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Beatrice was born on May 21, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to Lester Frank and Helen Halladay. She was married to Roy Papke in May 25, 1949 in Waukesha, WI. They had four children.

Beatrice was a wife and mother who supported her spouse and children as a stay-at-home mom. Roy and Beatrice have lived in Wisconsin, Utah, and Idaho, finally settling in Idaho to be close to family. They owned and ran The Shelley Pioneer together. She was also a member of Sweet Adaline’s and volunteered at the local hospitals.

Beatrice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, after joining in 1964, and served throughout many auxiliaries. She was sealed to Roy in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple in 1964. They served three LDS missions together to Texas, England, Nigeria, and Ireland.

Beatrice was also very involved with her community at Lincoln Court. She was nominated many times and served for three years as Mrs. Lincoln Court. She could usually be found calling Bingo, going on multiple excursions, and playing cards. She enjoyed her time at Lincoln Court and viewed the community as family. Her social personality and spunk were well-known and adored by many. She had an impact on everyone she knew and will be greatly missed.

Beatrice was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Lois (AL) Jamieson, husband, daughter Gail, and son Gary (Denise). She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Terry) Wade, and her son Jeff (Leslie) Papke. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren with four more on the way.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Idaho Falls 24th Ward Chapel (1155 East 1st Street). The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11:30 till 12:40 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
