Benio H. Olmos

August 21, 1981 — August 26, 2009

Benio Olmos, 28, passed away August 25, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born August 21, 1981 in Blackfoot Idaho to Eva Olmos. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. Benny was born with heart problems that made him small in size. Because of these heart problems he had learning disabilities that held him back. But Benny beat all odds when he graduated from Shelley High School in 2002.

Benny grew up in Firth and was raised, as a child, by his Grandma and Grandpa Olmos. Before his death, he was being raised and taken care of by his Uncle Vic, Aunt Mellie and Grandma Torres. He loved helping his Grandma Torres mow her lawn and help with her flowers and her garden.

Benny loved the outdoors and he loved spending time with his 2 brothers Victor and Roberto and his cousins Rafael, Tomas, Tito, Little Pete and Martin. Fishing, boarding and watching his cousin Rafael play basketball is what he loved doing best. He also loved spending time with his many young cousins and his niece Reina whom he adored.

Benny had a goofy smile and an even goofier personality. He always had something to say to make you laugh. He would do anything to make you smile, because that’s the kind of person he was.

For the short time that Benny was here with us, he made our lives a joy and filled our hearts with more love than we ever could have imagined.  He taught us that life was too short to worry about the petty things.

Benny was preceded in death by his beloved Grandma Olmos and his Uncle Martin Olmos, and Aunt Reina Garza.

He is survived by his mother, two brothers, Victor and Roberto, two sisters, Uncle Vic and Aunt Mellie, and Grandma Torres.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak Street) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:30 P.M. and Saturday morning 9:30 till 10:45 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Roberto Olmos, Victor Salvador, Rafael Jimenez, Tomas Torres, Victor Torres Jr. and Martin Torres. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Olmos, Pedro Olmos, Cuco Olmos and Pedro Olmos Jr.
