Beth Christensen

December 12, 1934 — January 13, 2010

Beth Christensen, 75, of Firth passed peacefully away at her home January 13, 2010.

She was born December 12, 1934, in Shelley, Idaho, the eighth child of George and Nora Bolander.  She attended schools in the Firth and Shelley area, graduating from Firth High School in 1953. On December 18, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Dale, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a wonderful and caring mother to their seven children and a number of foster children. They enjoyed the years together traveling, camping, boating, and other family and outdoor activities. She especially enjoyed being home with her family. She was always a perfect example of kindness, peace, and support to family and friends.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and accepted numerous callings in the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and as ward organist. She served two full time missions for the church with her husband; first to Armenia, and later to Pennsylvania.
Beth is survived by her eternal companion, Dale; her children, Clair (Kaylene) Christensen of Basalt; Karen (Scott) Wilde of Ammon; Jim (Margo) Christensen of Logan, UT; Darrell (Koreen) Christensen of Orem, UT; Boyd (Roxanne) Christensen of Firth; Joan (Dave) Munk of Winnemucca, NV;  Ranae (Richard) Jackson of Colton, WA; 36 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren (with several more on the way) and three brothers, Gary Bolander of Firth; Vance Bolander of Firth; and Von Bolander of Boise. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at the Firth LDS Ward building (744 N. 600 E, Firth) on Monday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. The family will meet with friends at a viewing held Sunday evening, January 17th from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 W. Oak St., Shelley), and from 9:30 – 10:40 a.m. Monday, prior to the funeral service at the church.  Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery.
