Beulah Aliene Converse

Beulah Aliene Converse, 93, passed away July 7, 2008 at Bingham County Extended Care Facility in Blackfoot.

Beulah was born on February 27, 1915 in Shelley, Idaho to LeRoy Johnson and Krista Henrietta Madsen Johnson.  She was the second of twelve children.

She attended school in Shelley.  She loved music and sang with her sisters at funerals and rodeos in the area.  She liked to draw and doodle, gardening, collecting dolls, playing guitar and piano, traveling, and spending time with her family.

On September 10, 1937 she married Willis Charles (Slim) Converse in a double ceremony with her sister, Idona and Francis Farrar at the State Fair in Filer.  She and Slim had three children.  They lived in several towns in Idaho throughout their married lives, but mainly in Shelley, Idaho Falls, and Blackfoot.

Slim joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in December of 1982.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 5, 1984.

She worked as a waitress and in the potato fields.

She is survived by her two sons, Willis (Carol) of Kearns, Utah; and Gene (Rhea) of Chubbuck; one daughter, Shirley (Almy) Robinson of Blackfoot; three sisters, Shirley Mitchell, June Miller both of Idaho Falls and Carol Taylor of Firth; one brother, Ross (Ellen) of Iona, 13 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 17 step great grandchildren, 14 ½ great great grandchildren, and 20 step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willis, three sisters, Idona, Pauline and Betty, four brothers, Doyle, Billy, Connie, and Bobby, two grandsons, Will and Steven, one granddaughter, Krista, and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 12, 2008 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Saturday morning 11:30 till 12:45 at Nalder Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
