Boyd E. Grover

Boyd Edwin Grover, 86, of Shelley, passed away at his home on January 14, 2013 from complications associated with Mesothelioma.

Boyd was born at Moreland, Idaho, on May 23, 1926, to George E. Grover and Alice M. Olsen Grover. He was the 2

nd

oldest child in his family with one brother and four sisters. He grew up in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School. He was active in sports and especially loved football and basketball. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served in WWII on the fleet tug USS Tolowa  ATF-116.

On January 8, 1947, he married Beth Zae Jensen in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their home in Shelley where they raised five children.

Boyd, his father, George, and his brother, LaVar owned and operated Grover Construction Company. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions through the years,  including bishop, high councilman and councilor in several bishoprics. His favorite position, however, was in the nursery. Boyd and Beth also served an LDS mission in the Guam-Micronesia Mission on Ponape.

Boyd married Joyce Dyorich on 18 September 1992.

Boyd was preceded in death by his wife Beth, sisters Verna and Donna, his daughter Rebecca, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife Joyce; brother, LaVar (Jeanette) Grover, sisters, LaRae Arave and Kathryn (Gaylon) Gallup; sons, Dennis (Sharron) Grover, Kim (Diane) Grover, and Karl (Christine) Grover; daughter, Ginna (Roger) Brown; Jeff Dyorich, Jennifer (Jed) Campbell, Kirk (Lisa) Dyorich, Matt (Becky) Dyorich, Johnny (Cherie) Dyorich, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Boyd's family expresses sincere appreciation to Aspen Home Health and Hospice for their special care and assistance.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Shelley Fifth Ward Chapel (513 South Park Ave). The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the Church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery with military rites by the David B. Bleak Post 93 of Shelley.
