Christopher Paul Mcneil

June 20, 1961 — September 24, 2017

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Christopher Paul McNeil, passed away peacefully surrounded with love and family on September 24, 2017 in Murray, Utah.

Christopher was born June 20, 1961 in San Diego, California to Robert McNeil and Barbara Snooks.

On November 23, 1984 he married Melanie Harker in Shelley, Idaho and started their family together. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Christopher earned a double bachelor degrees from Idaho State University and a master’s degree from University of Idaho.

He obtained a job in Wyoming as the State Trails Safety Coordinator. While in Wyoming he educated kids of proper ATV safety. Later, he and Melanie moved to Draper, Utah where he taught for the Red Cross. Even after his diagnosis he oversaw and obtained funding for the building of a skate park in Riverton, Wyoming. Christopher was involved in any adventure or good time he could.

Christopher is survived by his wife Melanie of Draper, UT, three children, Mathew (Cody) McNeil of Bountiful, UT, Ashley (Charles) McNeil of Riverton, WY, Hollie McNeil of Draper, UT, and two adored grandson’s Holden and Koalman.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. and Friday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
