Clyde Conrad Miller

November 3, 1918 — January 18, 2011

Clyde Conrad Miller, 92, of Shelley passed away January 18, 2011 at Pine Brook Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls.

He was born 3 November, 1918 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Charles Conrad Miller and Effie Nina Staker.   He spent his growing years in St. Anthony and Teton, Idaho.  His angel mother died when Clyde was 7 years old and he went to live with his Uncle LeRoy Staker and Aunt Isabell.  He loved living with them and spent many a happy day working and playing on their farm.

Clyde graduated High School in 1938. He served in the military from 1942 to 1945.  During this time he married Wanda Bean on the 12 June, 1945 in Logan Utah Temple.  He was discharged as Technician 4

th

Grade.  He served in Canada as a communication technician.

Wanda and Clyde made their home in Idaho Falls, and then bought the Stanton School house in Shelley which Clyde made into a home.

Clyde got a certificate in small home construction and body and fender from ISU.   He then worked over 30 years for Snake River Equipment as a parts salesman and then for Logan Equipment.

Clyde was a member of the LDS church and served as Stake Clerk and Executive secretary for 4 stake presidents, as Counselor in the 1

st

ward Bishopric, High Priest group leader, and he served in the temple and was over the Shelley Stake extraction program.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Miller of Shelley;  daughters, Lawan Brown of Pendleton, Oregon; Merlynn (Bowen) Huntsman of Idaho Falls;  Juanita (Jerry) Thacker  of Altamont, Utah; Echo (Rex) Munro of Shelley;  and Loa (Larry) Murray of Shelley; one son, Clyde D (Terryl) Miller of West Haven, Utah.  Clyde and Wanda have 31 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 great great grand children.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Charles Conrad Miller and Effie Nina Staker, a baby sister and little brother, a brother Russell Miller and sister Doris Murdock, a son in law Kenneth  Brown and a grandson Jacob Thacker.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday January 24, 2011 at the Woodville Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East).  The family will received friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Monday morning from 9:00 till 9:40 A.M. at the church.  Interment will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93.
