Coral Catherine Steffler

January 16, 1923 — March 13, 2009

Coral Catherine Steffler, 86, of Goshen passed away March 13, 2009 at Idaho Falls Health and Rehab Center in Idaho Falls.

Coral was born January 16, 1923 at home in Basalt to Charles Walter and Maude Jones Crofts. She was the 5th of 6 children. She attended school in Basalt and Firth High School and graduated in 1941. On May 12, 1944 she married her sweetheart Charles Lewis Steffler. They had five loving children: Elaine, Brent, Kent, Connie and Mark. Their marriage was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1961.

Coral loved helping Charlie work on the farm, being a housewife and raising her children. She later worked at the Firth school as a cook. She loved the thought of taking care of all the children and they loved her back. She made lifelong friends with the ladies that she worked with.

Coral enjoyed going on rock hunting adventures with Charlie and her usual two sidekicks, Don and Marva Walton and playing pinochle into the late night with her friends. She enjoyed sharing many things that she loved with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: genealogy, crocheting, putting together puzzles, tending to a flower garden and finding hidden treasures in the clouds on trips to the hills and to family reunions.

Coral is survived by her children: Elaine (Barry) Christensen; Brent (Rhonda) Steffler; Mark (Cynthia) Steffler all of Goshen, Connie (David) Baird of Judith Gap, Montana, a sister Winona Johnston of Idaho Falls, 14 Grandchildren and 28 Grandchildren. Coral is now with the ones that she has missed deeply throughout the years: her parents, husband, two sisters, Ellen Dye and Chara Hansen, a brother Charles Croft, a son Kent, one grandson and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Presto Ward Chapel (792 North 1090 East) with Bishop David Schiess, conducting. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 P. M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak Street) in Shelley and Tuesday morning 10:00 till 10:45 at the church. Burial will be at the Moreland Cemetery.
