Danny Whitaker

Daniel “Danny” Whitaker, 57, of Shelley passed away January 10, 2013 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from natural causes.

He was born November 2, 1955 in Rigby, Idaho to Bartlett Cordon Whitaker and Ada Afton Nebeker Whitaker Christensen. He attended school in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School in 1975. He joined the US Army following High School and served 4 years in Texas. He attended Vo-Tech School and studied Diesel Mechanics. He worked for Bud Rodgers Pallets, Steel Systems and G.P.O.D. for many years, and was currently working there at the time of his death.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and was a rock hound. He also enjoyed leather work, working on vehicles and working in the garden.

He is survived by his siblings, Reita M. Imeson of Shelley, Bart E. Whitaker of Idaho Falls; Bill N. Christensen of Idaho Falls, Becky (Stacy) Freeman of Idaho Falls; Dennis (Bethany) Christensen of Meridian; Afton (Troy) Coles of Idaho Falls; Wesley (Quinn) Christensen of Boise; Step Siblings, Beth Jane Carson of Shelley; Roger (Janie) Christensen of Idaho Falls; Shirley (Klaus) Kunkel of Utah; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Step-Father Dennis Christensen and his Grandparents.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak, in Shelley with Bishop Trent Dye, conducting. The family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. and Friday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery with military rites by the David B. Bleak Post 93 of Shelley.
