Deloy Francis Daw

August 20, 1913 — April 12, 2010

Our beloved father and grandfather, Deloy Francis Daw, passed away April 12, 2010, at Rosetta Assisted Living Center in Pocatello under the care of Creekside Hospice.  He was born August 20, 1913, at Shelley, Idaho, to Charles Fredrick Daw and Clara Smith Daw.

Deloy grew up in the Shelley–Firth area.  He attended schools in Firth and graduated from Firth High School where he was active in sports.  There he met the love of his life, Ivy Scarborough, and they were married and sealed in the Logan Temple November 1, 1935.  He farmed in the Osgood area for many years.

Deloy was a member of the LDS church and served in various positions throughout the years.  Nevertheless, the one he enjoyed the most was serving as a temple officiator for 28 years in the Idaho Falls Temple.  Deloy enjoyed growing flowers in his yard, playing golf, exercising and keeping fit.  However, the greatest accomplishment in his life was his family.

Survivors include son Edwin (Karen) Daw of Chubbuck, daughter Naomi (Larry) Carter of Burley, daughter-in-law Kaye Daw of Sandy, Utah, daughter Connie (Jerry) Gibbons of Idaho Falls, daughter Norma Albertson of Rigby, son Kim (Lynette) Daw of Blackfoot, daughter Denett (Dan) Jensen of Rigby, brother Donald (Esther) Daw of Jerome, sister Marge (Cyp) Gentillon of Pingree, 33 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Steve, two sons-in-law, Roger Lott and Ronald Albertson, three brothers, four sisters, four granddaughters, one grandson, and one great granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Shelley Stake Center (325 East Locust). The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Friday morning 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the Church.  Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery.
