Dennis Dean Yorgensen

October 20, 1935 — March 2, 2009

Dennis (Red) Dean Yorgensen, 73, passed away March 2, 2009 at his home with family present to honor and show their love for him.  

He was born October 20, 1934 in Basalt, Idaho to LaVon and Gladys Yorgensen. 

He graduated from Firth High School and then served two years with the United States Army stationed in Korea.  He returned home where he married Dorella Ann Brooks in 1955 and had three sons.  He married Laura Lynn Skaar in 1977. 

He was a role model for his children He also enjoyed his yearly hunting (poker playing) trips with his brothers and friend Verge.  He was loved and respected by all who came into contact with him. 

He worked and then retired from the R.T. French Company in Shelley, Idaho.    

He is survived by his wife Laura L. Yorgensen of Shelley; sisters, Betty Briggs of Shelley; Patsy Bair of Rexburg; and Glenda Nelson of Shelley; brothers LaMar Yorgensen of Taylor; Kent Yorgensen of St. George, Utah; sisters in Law, Kathy Yorgensen of Idaho Falls and Janet Yorgensen of Shelley; sons Michael Yorgensen of University Place, Washington; Dennis Kurt Yorgensen and Douglas Yorgensen both of Idaho Falls; Wesley Skaar of Basalt; Roger Skaar, Monte Skaar, Jessica Skaar and Lori Skaar.  He also leaves twenty seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, infant twins Sheryl and Darryl and brothers, Don Yorgensen, Larry Yorgensen, Kenneth Yorgensen, Lewis Yorgensen and Lois Yorgensen.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 5, 2009 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The Family will receive friend’s one hour prior to the services. Military Rites will be preformed by Bingham Post #93.
