Dewayne Willis Moore

December 24, 1924 — October 1, 2008

Dewayne Willis Moore, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 1, 2008.  

He was born December 24, 1924, at Esbon, Kansas, to Cecil Willis Moore and Dollie Varden Blain Moore.  He spent his first twelve years at Red Cloud, Nebraska at which time the family moved to Jerome, Idaho.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the Korean War.  

He married Ruth Kiser, they had three sons and were later divorced. He married Deanna Cox in 1976 and they have remained in the Idaho Falls area.  They spend their winter months at Salome, Arizona.  

He started working for Mountain Bell Telephone after his time served in WWII, and worked in the Southern Idaho area for the next 34 years, he worked dial conversion throughout the area and later was a manager at Arco, going on to Idaho Falls where he supervised repair and installation crews.  He was an active member of the Civitan Club for several years.  His favorite pass-times were fishing, gardening and travel.  He always raised a large garden, which he mostly gave away, and loved to do seminars on the subject to church groups, etc.  

He is survived by his wife, Deanna of Idaho Falls; sons, Ronald (Christine)of Tualatin, Or., David (Iris) of Portland, Or., Jeff (Crystal) of Ogden, Ut., Scot (Karen) Anderson of Idaho Falls, Kirk Anderson of Shelley and Greg Anderson of Idaho Falls; Daughters, Shawna (Mel) Wardell of Idaho Falls, Janet (Jay) Hammer of Ft. Collins, Co., Diane (Spence) Spencer of Las Vegas, Nev., and LaNae (Mike) Surerus of Roberts, Id.; 22 Grandchildren; and 13 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 siblings; and 1 granddaughter.  

A memorial service will be held outdoors at his home at 1896 W. 81 S. Idaho Falls, Monday, Oct. 6 at 1:00 p.m.  Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 93.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran St. Idaho Falls.
