Dolly Tschikof

May 7, 1924 — April 10, 2006

Dolly Tschikof, 81, of Firth, beloved wife and mother, passed away April 10, 2006 in Idaho Falls.

Dolly was born the 12th of 13 children on May 7, 1924 in Shelley, Idaho to Henry Kirk and Margaret Williams. Her early years were spent on a ranch along the Blackfoot River until the family moved to Firth. She attended Firth schools and graduated from FHS in 1942. After graduation she worked at Hill Field Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah as a bookkeeper and courier then in San Francisco for a short time before returning to Firth to work at the Firth Drug Store.

Dolly met her future husband, Walt, at the Firth Drug Store in January of 1944 and they married on April 23rd of that year.

Walt started Shelley Cabinet Co. in 1957 where Dolly worked as office manager and bookkeeper until her retirement.

She was a strong Christian woman, a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Firth and later attended Christ Community Church in Idaho Falls until her death. She was involved in Christian Women’s Club in Idaho Falls, serving on the Planning Team in many capacities and attended Bible Study Fellowship for many years. Her faith in Christ was the center of her life and her witness touched the lives of countless others. Her gentle spirit allowed Christ’s light to shine through her – this was her greatest impact. Her deepest desire and fervent prayer was that her entire family would have that same personal relationship with Jesus.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Walt Tschikof, daughters, Lynda (Rudi) Unterthiner of Santa Barbara, CA, Peggy (Craig) Ahlstrom of Morton, IL, Penny (David) Honsinger of Wenatchee, WA, son, Randy Tschikof of Boise, ID, daughter in-law, Debra Tschikof of Firth, brother, Hank Williams of Ohio and sister Grace Williams Ziegler of Blackfoot, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear son, Dan Tschikof and 10 siblings.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M Saturday April 15th at Christ Community Church, 5742 South Fifth West, (Park Rd) in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends Friday April 14th from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak in Shelley and Saturday one hour before the services at the church.
