Donald Fred Dixon

Donald Fred Dixon died Friday, August 11, 2006 at his home in Shelley after a two-year battle with cancer under the care Aspen Home Health & Hospice.  

Don was born February 13, 1945 in St Anthony, Idaho to Herbert Fred Dixon and Marjorie Miller. His childhood was spent in St Anthony, Boise, Mountain Home and Caldwell before moving to Ashton with his family before his senior year of high school. He served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971.  

On September 2, 1970 Don married Patricia Diane Smith in Ashton. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 13, 2001. 

Don was a carpenter by trade and restorer of antique cars by avocation. He was known for the high quality of his work.  

Don is survived by his wife, Trish, son Shad (Suzanne) Dixon, daughter Hannah Dixon, granddaughters Aspen and Jerrica Dixon, all of Shelley, grandson Brandon Reynolds of Florida, mother Marjorie Dixon of St Anthony, sisters Kathy (Ross) Henderson and Tami (Rex) Wade of Ashton, and brother Drex Dixon of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his father Fred and daughter Clarissa Smith Dixon.  

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 15th at the Shelley First Ward Chapel (184 North Park Ave.) with Bishop Mark Nelson, conducting. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Tuesday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M at the church. Interment will be in the Ashton Cemetery.
