Donna Rae Jones

Donna Rae Jones, 76, of Shelley passed away December 7, 2006 at her home under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

She was born December 19, 1929 at Shelley, Idaho to George and Vera Carter Hjelm. 

She attended school in Shelley and Issaquah, WA.

On March 14, 1948 she married Donald Jones at Issaquah, WA.

She worked for the RT French Company for 18 years before retiring. 

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, camping with family, baking, & cross word puzzles; she was a kind, loving person who put her family above all else and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by five children; Rick (Dee) Jones, Leota Olmos both of Idaho Falls, Roxann (Gerald), Margarite Thomson, Perry (Jerry) Jones, & son-in-law Refujio Olmos all of Shelley, five sisters, Rosula (Robert) McKelly, Mary (Jeryl) Gotch both of Shelley, Lois (Doug) Refrem of Washington, Hope (Jim) Lovell of Ririe, Kathy (Bruce) Martin of California, four brothers, Lonnie (Linda) Hjelm of Washington, Chirp Hjelm of Montana, Punk (Linda) Hjelm of Shelley, Terry Hjelm of Basalt, 20 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Leonard Jones, one daughter, Susan Jones, one grandson, Terry Thomson, one great grandson, Bryce Born, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 12th at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley with Bishop Curtis Burtenshaw conducting. The family will receive friends Monday evening 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. and Tuesday morning 9:30 till 10:40 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
