Dwain Mcgary

Dwain McGary, age 87, of Fallbrook, California passed away early on the morning of Friday, November 8, 2019.

He was born on September 22, 1932 in Shelley, Idaho to David and Louis (Staples) McGary. He was 10th of 13 children. He was a graduate of Shelley High School class of 1950. He went on to serve in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He used the GI Bill to attend and graduate from the University of Utah and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Master of Science degree from West Coast University in 1968. He worked in the aerospace industry for 35 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was married to his sweetheart Margaret (Brinkerhoff) whom he married in 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; children, Russell (Susan) McGary, Robert (Jill) McGary, Carl (Hitomi) McGary, Maureen (Ryan) Christensen and Marvin (Stephanie) McGary. He was the proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren one of which preceded him in death, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sister, Jennie Johnson and brothers Don, Gerald and Alvin McGary.

Services will be held on November 16 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 621 S. Stage Coach Lane in Fallbrook, California at 11:00 am with a viewing to be held at 10:00 am.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery with military rites performed by David B. Bleak Post 93 and the Idaho Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
