Echo Olive Young

Echo Olive Wadsworth Young, 99, passed away peacefully at her home in Taylor on September 1, 2011 just 28 days short of her 100

th

birthday.

She was born September 29, 1911 to John and Camillie Wadsworth. She was the third of four children-two brothers, Carol and Kenneth, and one sister, Lila Barnett, all of whom have preceded her in death. She was raised and attended school in Taylor and Shelley.

On November 26, 1930 she married Ferra B Young in the Logan, Utah temple.  Ferra passed away on December 24, 1996.  They had two daughters, Elaine Alvey, who passed away in 1998 and Linda Cox.

She was active in the LDS church serving in many organizations in the ward and stake including Relief Society President for many years.

She was a charter member of the pink ladies organization at the LDS hospital in Idaho Falls. This experience inspired her to take nursing training at the age of 52.  She went on to get her LPN degree and worked for 22 years on the surgical floor of the LDS Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Barry) Cox of Taylor;  brother-in-law, Vance Barnett of Taylor; son-in-law,  LaVar (Marlena) Alvey of Idaho Falls; 9 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferra, daughter, Elaine, her three siblings, and a great grandson, Michael Alvey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday September 6, 2011 at the Taylor Ward Chapel (1101 E 1250 N).  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Tuesday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 before the services at the church.  Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
