Eileen Frances Stoddard

July 1, 1933 — June 25, 2006

Eileen Frances Chamberlain Stoddard died of liver disease on June 25,2006 under hospice care at the home of her eldest daughter in Provo, Utah.  

Eileen was born July 1, 1933 in Ogden, Utah, the fourth of five children born to Blanche Viola Ahern and George Frances Chamberlain. She grew up in Pleasant View, Utah and graduated from Delta High School in Delta, Utah in 1951.  

On September 6, 1957, she married Alonzo Edwin Stoddard in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. Eileen taught elementary school while her husband completed his master’s degree and then the couple moved to Tabiona, Utah where they lived for two years. The Stoddards moved to their final home in Shelley, Idaho in August 1960.  

Eileen worked at French’s/Pillsbury for many years.  She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions in the Primary and Relief Society for most of her adult life.  She and her husband served a full-time mission in the Oklahoma Oklahoma City mission from September 2001 to September 2002.  Eileen was also an officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. 

  Survivors include her husband of forty eight years, three daughters: Lonette Stoddard, Provo, Utah, LeeAnn (Victor) Johnston, Ogden, Utah and Jeneal Stoddard, Brea, California; two sisters: Blanche Anderson, Ogden, Utah and Carol Friese, Washington, Utah, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Iris Jenson, and a brother, George Chamberlain. 

  Funeral services will be held Saturday July 1, at 11:00 AM in the Shelley Stake Center, (325 East Locust) with Bishop Barry Hanson conducting. Friends may call Friday evening at Nalder Funeral Home (110 W Oak) 7:00 till 8:30pm and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am at the church. Internment will be in the Parker Cemetery.
