Fama Elaine Crofts Hansen, 93, completed her journey here on the earth October 7, 2007 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Fama was born January 13, 1914 in Basalt, Idaho to Hyrum Thomas Crofts and Charlotte Paskett. She attended school in the Firth School District.
Fama had long black curly hair and was a beautiful young woman. She loved school, with her favorite subject being math. She loved all sports; swimming, dancing, basketball, & baseball.
Fama married Niels Donald Hansen on July 3, 1931 and was sealed to him on May 24, 1965. They had four children, Gerry, Doug, Karen & Donnie.
Fama loved music, playing several instruments, drums being her favorite. She started playing the drums in 1984 with the Senior Citizen Band from Blackfoot. Then she started playing with her brother, Afton Crofts, in the Shelley Senior Citizens Center. She did a lot of visiting to the shut-in Senior Citizens in Bingham County, and wished a lot of people a “Happy Birthday.”
She lived from the horse and buggy days to the jet and computer age. She attributed her long life to hard work.
Fama was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved going to the temple once a week until her health failed.
She is survived by two sons; Gerry (Phyllis) Hansen and Donnie (Ronda) Hansen, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, one son Doug, one daughter, Karen, and four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday October 12, 2007 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley with Bishop Vern Bowden conducting. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. and Friday morning 10:00 till 10:40 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
