Frank Carter

October 12, 1944 — December 14, 2014

Frank Carter our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2014, with a glorious reunion taking place with his granddaughter Kelsi Ann Carter.

He was born October 12, 1944 to Ronald and Velma (Priest) Carter in Shelley Idaho. He spent his childhood and attended school in Shelley.

In 1961 he joined the United States Navy, serving as a member of Fighter Squadron 154 during the Vietnam War, serving on the ground and on several aircraft carries one being the USS CORAL SEA.

He returned in 1966 and on September 14, 1966 he married Sheila Polson, they recently celebrated their 48

th

wedding anniversary. He was a body man/painter for Stoddard Ford. He also worked for Reinhart Construction, Hunter Saucerman Construction and retired as a supervisor from West Regional Construction.

Over the past 27 years he has enjoyed his life as a grandpa to Tyson, Joshua, David, Luke, Brooke, Hunter, Cole and Autumn.  His grandkids where the apple of his eye, never missing a moment whether it was picking them up from school, or going to a game or party, even over the past 4 years when he was so sick he would still show up and they would know he was watching them and cheering them on.

He is survived by his wife Sheila Carter of Shelley, Children; Alana Villanueva of Lake Havasu AZ, Tonya (Brian) Rupe of Idaho Falls, Brock (Kelli) Carter of Shelley, Siblings; Della Reader of Blackfoot, Jennie Clark of Idaho Falls, Glenda Fern Frandsen of Cedar City, UT, Richard Carter of Shelley and Lucille King of Idaho Falls, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jim Carter and a granddaughter Kelsi Ann Carter.

A celebration of his life will be Friday December 19, 2014 at 11:00 am at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. Family will meet with loved ones Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm and an hour before the service at Nalder Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93.

The family would like to thank Aspen Hospice for their wonderful support and care to Frank and Sheila at this difficult time, especially Monica and Verla.

In Lieu of flowers Frank would love donations to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City on behalf of the care they gave to both of his precious granddaughters; Kelsi Carter and Brooke Rupe.
