Gale Millar Hampton

Gale Millar Hampton, 51 of Shelley, passed away unexpectedly December 6, 2009 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Gale was born April 14, 1958 in Blackfoot, Idaho.  Daughter of Arvil Millar and Melba Norman Millar, she attended school in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School in 1976.  Later that year, Gale married the late Alan Butler and lived in Shelley for the next 15 years.  In 1992, Gale married Darren Hampton of Idaho Falls.  They made their home in Shelley.  Gale’s childhood included working on the farm and in the dairy.  Gale enjoyed many trips with her parents to Boise as her father worked in the Legislature.  Gale enjoyed scrap booking, being with her grandchildren and spending time with her friends.  Gale worked many years at the local convenience store and enjoyed the many friendships that she made.  Gale also enjoyed the years she was a cook working at the Shelley High School cafeteria.

Gale is survived by her husband Darren, children, Boyd Butler of Shelley; Laura Farley (Nate) of Ohio; Tennille Butler of Salt Lake City; and Adam Butler of Idaho Falls; four grandchildren, Gabe, Kylee, Magei, Sam, and a sister Jeanne Stonely (Dan) of Mt. Pleasant, UT.  Gale was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Shelley Stake Center (325 East Locust) with Bishop Scott Searle conducting.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Friday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
