Glen Willard Spalding

July 15, 1931 — March 7, 2008

Glen Willard Spalding, 76, formerly of Firth, passed away March 7, 2008 in Seattle, Washington.

Glen was born July 15, 1931 in Firth, Idaho to Curtis J. Spalding and Letha Lyon Spalding.  He attended schools in Firth, graduating from Firth High School in 1950.  His love of music began during those high school days where he participated in many band and choral groups.

Glen served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  After his military service he enrolled at the University of Utah and was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad Company.  

In 1953 he moved to California where he was employed by the Hartford Insurance Company.  The company later transferred him to Seattle, Washington.  He thoroughly enjoyed his years in Seattle where he developed many loyal friendships.

Glen is survived by his sister, Betty Spalding (Gerald) Dye of Elk Ridge, Utah.  He is also survived by Anna Johnson Stringham of Blackfoot, Idaho, who he always considered a sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and step mother, Orpha Brown Spalding.

A memorial service was held in Seattle, Washington by many of his loyal friends in that area.  A family memorial will be held in Shelley, Idaho at a later date with burial in the Basalt Cemetery beside his beloved mother.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
