Helen B. King

Helen Audrey King, daughter of Mary Emily Wilhelm-Brooks and Edward L. Brooks of Baltimore County, passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 24

th

, in her daughter’s home.

She married Ralph Thomas King on May 20

th,

1950, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Helen lived in Valley Forge, PA, Rock Hill, SC, York, PA, and Saint Charles, MO before settling in Shelley, Idaho in 1986.

In her teen years, she was a telephone operator.

She worked in the health care field and spent 16 years in the behavior health center.

She labored in the Idaho Falls Temple and served in the Rochester, New York Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Helen will be remembered for her generous heart, witty humor, delicious butter cookies, feisty fun attitude, and love of Pepsi Cola.

She never missed a loved one’s birthday, anniversary or other momentous event or holiday.

She will be greatly missed by those she touched.

Her siblings Charles, George, Eva May, Doris, Gloria, Edward L., Guy, and Gilbert preceded Helen in death.

She leaves behind her daughters, Sherry (Glen) Martineau, Sheila (Matt) Banks and Sandee (Gary) Watterud.

She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Kara Yancey for her loving care and Aspen Home Health.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.  Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley. Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
