Hugh Bonilla Jenkins Sr.

February 24, 1925 — October 19, 2008

Hugh Bonilla Jenkins Sr., 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 19, 2008 at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born February 24, 1925 in Salinas, California.

Hugh served his country in the Navy during World War II from 1943 till 1945.

He married Rosalie Young; they were blessed with three children, Hugh Bonilla, Sharon Ethriedge and Nancy Hoffman.  Hugh & Rosalie were later divorced.

On May 14, 1981 he married Vera Jewell Sanders Pascoe.  They lived in Antioch until he retired from Crown Zelerbach Paper Co.  Hugh was a member of the Elks Lodge in Antioch serving as Exhaled Ruler from 1991 to 1992.  In 1993 Vera & Hugh Moved to Idaho Falls, he became a member of Elks Lodge #1087.

He had a love of golf.  He purchased a pass and golfed the three courses in Idaho Falls, spending many hours with his golfing buddies.  He won many tournaments and was very proud of his trophy room.

He is survived by his three children, Hugh Bonilla (Bernice), Sharon (Curtis) Ethriedge and Nancy Hoffman, nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, step son, Wyanoka Lee Park, step daughter in law, Evelyn Pascoe, step grandchildren, Tamara (Mike), Kim (Janis), and Stacy (Candi), 14 step great grandchildren and 12 step great great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one step son, Harold E. Pascoe.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Fairwinds Sand Creek, Idaho Health & Rehabilitation & to Frank Just who spent many hours of service and friendship to Hugh over the years.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday October 24, 2008 at the Woodville Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion Post 93 from Shelley.  The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 till 10:45 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.
