James Roger Nuttall

November 12, 1931 — November 19, 2017

James Roger Nuttall, son of James Vernard and Iris Verrena (Andersen) Nuttall, died November 19, 2017 under the care of Aspen Hospice in Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 12, 1931, number three of twelve children in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and attended Ricks College where he performed in a tumbling team and exhibition acrobatics and clown diving. He also attended BYU in Provo.

Roger met and soon married Doris Kotter August 20, 1954 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. A short time later, he was drafted into the Army. Doris and first born son were able to join him in Verdun, France where Roger was stationed.

Roger loved construction. He worked for 36 years at Amcor (now Old Castle) in the concrete construction business. He built two homes for his family and helped others with theirs. After retirement, he built furniture and did many construction jobs for family and friends.

He was active and faithfully served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Roger and his wife served two missions together—one in Greensboro, North Carolina and in St. Louis, Missouri.

Roger was preceded in death by two grandsons, his parents, twin baby brothers George and Gene, sister Iris Pershall, and brother Karl Nuttall. He is survived by his wife of 63 years—Doris, sons Rush of Woodville, ID, Neal (Deanne) of Lancaster, CA, Eric (Evelyn) of South Jordan, UT, Alex (Tamra) of Boise, ID, Kris of Salt Lake City, UT, Owen (Gretchen) of Boise, ID, daughters Paula (Eric

Rich) of Meridian, ID, Iris (Dan Thieme) of Meridian, ID, 34 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Surviving also are his brothers Garth Nuttall (Javann) of West Jordan, UT, Ellis Nuttall (Marti) of Provo, UT and Sisters Sally Bugg of St. George, UT, Nancy Monahan (Jerry) of Rancho Mirage, CA, Rosalyn Davies (Race) of Alpine, UT, Laura Tanner (Darrell) of North Ogden, UT, and Kathleen Gill of South Ogden, UT.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Woodville 2nd Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Sunday evening November 26th, from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home and Monday morning form 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Woodville Cemetery with military rites by the David B. Bleak Post #93.
