Janis Irene Borrowman

September 14, 1941 — June 16, 2020

Janis Irene Gillette Borrowman was born September 9, 1941. She passed to the other side on June 16,2020 at University Hospital of natural causes.

Her parents were Daniel and Fern Gillette. She had a brother Paul Gillette and sister Kay Jensen who have both passed the veil who were ready to receive Janis warmly. She raised in Tooele Utah. She attended school there and graduate from Tooele High School in 1959. She was active in school and in the community.

Following graduation, she attended and worked at Utah State University. It was here she married Curtis Biggs. While married to Curtis, she was blessed with her two sons Justin and Shawn. These boys were her whole world. She lived her life for her boys. She then was blessed with her five grandsons, Chance, Deryk, Tycen, Jaycen, and Kyler. She loved to attend their sporting events, school activities, and church activities.

She married her eternal companion Don Borrowman on December 6, 2008. They made their home in Shelley. They were sealed on April 23, 2011 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They resided in Shelley Idaho.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings through the years and influenced many throughout her life. She loved to serve and help wherever she was needed.

She spent time working in the medical community. She worked for Dr. Candace Carlton, Dr. Stan Griffeths, and at Mountain View Hospital. She was instrumental in setting up the volunteer program and gift store at Mountain View when it opened.

Her love was art. She loved creating beautiful things from simple things. She worked with oils, mixed media, and watercoloring. She did small items with an emphasis on journaling with art. She also loved to restore antiques, make dolls, and design old fashioned Santa’s. She also loved to sew. Her favorite was patchwork quilts. So many people were blessed with her art and beauty.

Janis is survived by her husband Don Borrowman of Shelley. Her son Justin (Lori) Biggs of Iona, and son Shawn Biggs. Her five grandsons, Deryk (Laci) Biggs of Idaho Falls Idaho, Jaycen Biggs and Kyler Biggs of Iona Idaho, Tycen Biggs of the Leeds England Mission, and Chancellor Grider of Boise Idaho. Also her bonus children Vicky Pickett of Idaho Falls Idaho, Mike ( Barb) Borrowman of Davis City Iowa, Kathy (Dan) Olkowski of Ennis Montana, and LeAnn (Boyd) Price of Elk Ridge Utah. She also has 14 bonus grandchildren, 48 bonus great grandchildren and one bonus great great grandchild.

She is preceded in Death by her parents Daniel and Fern Anderson, brother Paul Gillette, and sister Kay Jensen.

The graveside service will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Brigham City Cemetery. A luncheon/service for family will follow the graveside service at the home of niece Brooke Finlayson.

The family will be meeting with family and friends to celebrate her life and memories on Friday, June 19th from 6-8 pm at her son Justin's home at 4960 E Rockwood in Iona, Idaho.
