Jean Davis Cox, 76, of Woodville died Sunday, May 6, 2012 in Idaho Falls of complications following a stroke.

Jean was born May 8, 1935 to John Clarence Davis and Gladys Morris Davis in Woodville.  She grew up in Woodville and attended schools in the Shelley area.  On 22 August 1953 she married Bud “M” Cox in Woodville.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah temple on 30 June 1965.

She and Bud lived in Ogden, Utah where they had three sons: Lorin Jay, Gerald Kent, and Elden Duane.  Gerald and Elden died as babies. They lived shortly in Idaho Falls where Robert “M” was born and then moved to Dugway, Utah where Richard Brent was born.  They lived shortly in Fairview, Utah and then returned to the Dugway area where one more son Dennis Craig was born.  They raised their sons in Dugway until Bud retired in 1984.  They then moved back to Woodville.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She enjoyed serving in the Junior Sunday school, primary and as a temple ordinance worker.  She especially enjoyed working in the nursery for decades in different wards.

She is survived by her sons, Lorin Cox of Woodville, Robert (Glapha) Cox of Idaho Falls, Richard (Lyneve) Cox of Lincoln, Utah, Dennis (Vicki) Cox of Idaho Falls, Bud (Norma) Cox of Layton, Utah and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant sons, sisters, Mary Fae Cox and Nedraq Taggart, brothers, Karl Lynn Davis and John Davis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Woodville Second Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East). The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 11:30 till 12:40 at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
