Johanna Elin Fowler

Johanna Elin “Joey” Andersen Fowler, 95, of Inkom passed away June 26, 2013 at Monte Vista Hills Healthcare Center in Pocatello.

She was born March 9, 1918 in Goshen, Idaho to Christian and Pearl Monson Andersen.

On November 20, 1934 she married Gilbert “Gib” Fowler in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.

Their first home was a tent.

Gib and his brothers worked for their father building roads.

Joey was taught to cook by her sister in law, Zora Fowler, and cooked for the road crew.

Joey was known for her love for her family and enjoyed making a home where ever she was. She enjoyed cooking, canning, raising a garden, camping, and traveling.

She crocheted, sewed, embroidered and made beautiful quilts, some of which she painted or embroidered.

Joey and Gib spent several winters as “Snowbirds” in Desert Hot Springs, California.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Carol) Fowler of Fountain, Colorado; Jolene (John) Wild of Portland, Oregon; Darryl (Pam) Fowler of Whitehall, Montana; Paul (Janet) Fowler of Inkom, Idaho; two sisters, Laree Jolley of Firth, Idaho; Margene Clawson of Twin Falls, Idaho; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Lilac Bird and Son, David Fowler.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Rapid Creek Ward Chapel (150 Snow Peak Road) in Inkom.

The family will receive Friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 W Oak) in Shelley and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. till 12:40 before the services at the church. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery at approximately 4:00 p.m.
