Kenneth M. Bridges

April 26, 1929 — June 25, 2010

Kenneth M. Bridges, 81, of Shelley, peacefully passed away June 25, 2010 at the Idaho Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Kenneth was born April 26, 1929 in Shelley to Charles Malyon and Melda Jane Mitchell Bridges.  He grew up in Shelley graduating from Shelley High School.

Kenneth began his career at the age of nine at Mallory’s Grocery Store in Shelley, He stayed in this line of work most of his life working for Russ’s Market and Safeway in Idaho Falls.  He also worked for Huntsman’s Food Town and Crook’s Market in Shelley.  He went to work for CAL Stores Distribution Center retiring from there after 20 years.

He married Effie Delores White on September 11, 1951, in Shelley. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 17, 1992.  They were blessed with four children.

Kenneth loved camping and the mountains eventually buying property in Island Park where they spent many weekends over many years enjoying the outdoors.

Kenneth belonged to the Shelley Lions for 24 years, was on the Shelley- Firth Quick Response Unit for 10 years and enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens center for lunch and visiting with folks there.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Delores of Shelley; children  Kenneth (Ted) Bridges of Firth; Melda (John) Feldott, of Shelley,; Kathy Pack (Malone) Hemmert of St. Charles, ID; and Terry (Jeanenne) Bridges of Rigby, ID; 19 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grand Children and three Great-Great Grand Children,  Sisters Carol (Angelo) Hernandez, of Blackfoot; and Larene Morris of Blackfoot.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two sons in law Joe Jorgensen, and David Pack, Two brothers Morris and Nate Bridges, Brother in Law David Morris and two great grand children.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Shelley 7

th

Ward South Stake Chapel 675 S. Milton, Shelley, ID.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 29 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak, Shelley, from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm and one hour prior to service at the church.  Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
