Kimberly Steele

September 5, 1968 — September 17, 2009

Kimberly Steele, 41, of Shelley quietly slipped from this earth and was rejoined with her mother in Heaven on September 17, 2009.

Kim Scheffler was born September 5, 1968 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Werner and Erna Rosenthal Scheffler.

On April 20, 2002 Kim was married to Kim Roger Steele in the Idaho Falls Temple.  “Kimmy” as all of her friends and family called her, was the perfect embodiment of an angel here on earth. She was diagnosed at age five with a rare terminal disease, Cystic Fibrosis.  However, she never let this hold her back.  She was active in school, band and many activities.  One of the things she enjoyed most growing up was camping and boating with her family.

She was very involved in the LDS church, serving faithfully in many young women and primary callings.

Kimmy was employed at the INL for 18 years, most of that time spent in the payroll department.  Due to complications brought on by her disease, she was forced to quit work, leave her friends and become a stay-at-home mom.

Kimmy was never able to have children of her own, however, her husband Kim had three young girls which included a newborn.  Kimmy finally had the family she always wanted.

She was not only an exceptional wife who doted on her husband and stood by his side through the good times and bad, but she was the most perfect mom any child could ever ask for.  She gave herself to her family tirelessly.  Even on those days when she would awake from bed so sick she could barely breathe, she would fix her husband’s lunch at 5 a.m. every morning and fix the girls a nice breakfast, get them dressed and she always made sure they never left the house for school without their hair fixed pretty.  She kept a spotless home, was a great cook, and made sure that the Holy Spirit was felt in the home at all times.

Kimmy will be sorely missed:  there will never be anyone who could ever love her girls or her family as strongly and as whole-heartedly as she did. She would gladly give her life for her girls and in the end, she ultimately did.

She is survived by her husband, Kim R. Steele, three step-daughters, Jaedyn, Bailey and Peyton.  Her father, Werner and stepmother Ingeborg, two brothers,  Kevin (Sheri),  Kurt (Tiffany) and grandmothers, Glijntje Rosenthal of Idaho Falls and Ilse Luther of Germany; also many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

We love Kimmy.
