Manuel Vazquez Orozco, 91, of Shelley, passed away October 8, 2007 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 27, 1916 to Cresenciano Vazquez and M. de Jesus Orozco. He lived most of his life in Michoacan, Mexico and in the summers he traveled to Idaho.
He had a great love for horses and enjoyed training them to become show horses. He loved to go hunting and enjoyed music and dancing.
On May 15, 1940 he married Genoveva Mendoza in Michoacan. They had 11 children.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Genoveva of Shelley and nine children; Gabriel (Soledad) Vazquez of Idaho Falls, Eva (Jose) Mendoza of Shelley, Margarita Vazquez of Michoacan, Teresa (Miguel) Moreno of Shelley, Catalina (Elias) Elizondo of Shelley, Manuel (Marta) Vazquez of Utah, Maria (Jose) Santos of Shelley, Alicia (Jose Luis) Grajeda of Michoacan, Genoveva (Jose) Gonzales of Shelley. He had 46 grandchildren and 82 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons; Daniel and Uriel Vazquez.
There will be a funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 11, 2007 at Christ the King Church, corner of 17th and Woodruff. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 10th from 11:00 A.M. till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley with a Rosary service at 6:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
