Marcella Nulph Barton

March 12, 1925 — June 16, 2016

Marcella Nulph Barton passed away June 16, 2016 at Bingham Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born March 12, 1925 to Forrest Raymond Nulph and Ivie L. Bateman Nulph in Shelley, Idaho. She attended Shelley schools all of her life and graduated from Shelley High School. She moved to Vancouver, Washington after high school and worked for a year then moved to Ogden, Utah to continue her education. She returned to Shelley for a visit and met her future husband, Byron H. Barton they were married December 24, 1944. They were later divorced.

She worked for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare in Idaho Falls and retired in 1987.  Since retirement she has loved to travel with family and friends.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was active in the Senior Citizen Center and served as Secretary for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for several years.

She is survived by one brother, Emmett Nulph of Shelley, ID, and her children Linda (Danny) Hillman of Shelley, ID,  Sheila (Darwin) Hillman of New Plymouth, ID, Kathy (Jerry) Gorton of Mesa, AZ, Rick (Doris) Barton of Phoenix, AZ, Susan (Jerry) Taylor of Soda Springs, ID, Karen (Wayne) Womack of Shelley, ID.  She was very proud of her 30 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother, Forrest Nulph and youngest son, Ronald Barton, two sons-in-law, Danny Hilllman and Jerry Gorton and two grandchildren, Reagan Barton and Joshua Womack.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Shelley 12

Ward Chapel, 325 E Locust.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak, in Shelley and Wednesday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
