Mary Lou Dooley

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Mary Lou Dooley, age 83, peacefully passed away in her home in Shelley, Idaho on July 2, 2012.

Mary Lou was born on November 6, 1928, in Roosevelt, Utah to Louis Paul Neeley and Mary Pilling Neeley. She graduated from Shelby High School in Montana and continued her education at Brigham Young University receiving a BA in Speech and Drama with a minor in English. She attended the university for another year in order to receive a teaching certificate as well and eventually completed a masters degree in English.

On January 29, 1953 Mary Lou married her sweetheart, Charles Francis Dooley, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their family of five in Cut Bank, Montana: Mark Charles, Sherry Lee, Richard Louis, Kirk John, and DeeArla.

Mom loved teaching. She has been a great influence in the lives of many as she taught English and directed many plays and musicals at Cut Bank High School over several years. She loved music, reading, sewing, but most of all loved being with her family including her 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren with at least 2 more on the way.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mary Lou was always anxious to serve the Lord and did so in numerous callings. In addition, she served several Stake Missions with her husband, and together they converted many through their love of the gospel, their testimonies and their examples.

Mary Lou is survived by her three sons, Mark Charles (Laurie Peel) Dooley currently serving an LDS Mission in the France; Richard Louis (Julie Merrill) Dooley, Sandy, UT; Kirk John (Pam Polatis) Dooley, Shelley, ID; and her two daughters, Sherry Lee (Allen Hugh) Wallace, Spanish Fork, UT and DeeArla (Alan) Bollschweiler, Shelley, ID; and by her only brother, Doral (Cavel Stewart) Neeley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters VaLois (Harold) Orme; Darlene (Leo) Harker.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Shelley LDS 4th Ward ,184 North Park Ave, Shelley, ID with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. before the funeral. There will also be a viewing on Sunday evening, July 8, 2012, from 6:00-7:30 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, Shelley, ID.  Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
