January 31, 1929 — December 10, 2009

Mary W. Dockstader, 80, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at a Pocatello care center with her daughter, Linda, by her side.  She was born January 31, 1929 in Shelley, Idaho to Sylverus (Pash) Williams and Laura Moore Williams.  She attended school in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School.

Mary loved music.  She sang, played the clarinet and piano in high school and throughout her life.  After graduation she went to work in Idaho Falls for Idaho First National Bank.  While walking each day to catch the bus to work she caught the eye of Keith C. Dockstader working at the local barbershop.  They were married June 2, 1948 in the home of her parents in Shelley.  Keith passed away on November 20, 2008.   Keith and Mary lived in Shelley for the next 48 years except for 9 months in the Seattle area.  Mary worked on and off through the years in the banking field.  In between Keith and Mary had six children, losing the 1

boys due to premature births.  They were blessed with three surviving children, 2 girls and a boy.

Mary was an active member of the Community Methodist Church of Shelley all of her life until joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Shelley 1

Ward) in 1972.  Keith and Mary sent two children on missions, one to Australia and one to South Africa.  She was active in musical programs in both churches and in the community for much of her life.

Mary moved to Clinton, Utah in 2004 living near her daughter Julie.  She made many friends at Country Pines Independent Living during her time there.  She moved to Quail Ridge in Pocatello in October of this year to live near her daughter Linda.  They had the chance to enjoy trips for frozen yogurt and a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

Mary is survived by three children, Linda (Dana) Christensen, Pocatello, Idaho; Daniel (Kim) Dockstader, Star Valley, Wyoming; and Julie (David) Heaps, Syracuse, Utah; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one brother, D. Gene (Maxine) Williams, Frankenmuth, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, three sons, Scott, Wynn, and Brian, one granddaughter, Reagan, and her parents, Pash and Laura.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Shelley First Ward Chapel (184 North Park).  The family will receive friends Saturday morning 9:30 till 10:45 A.M. at the church.  Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.
