May Belle Hansen

April 6, 1915 — December 19, 2012

May Belle Miles Hansen passed away at the age of 97 on Thursday, December 19, 2012, with her great-great-grandchildren close by at Williamsburg Independent Living in Logan, Utah.

May was born on April 6, 1915, in Mt. Home, Utah, the fifth of six children born to Luchious Marion Miles and Jenettie C. Huddleston.  She was preceded in death by her siblings:  Viva (Floyd) Peterson, Alberta (Fred) Lindsay, Albert (Bauksun) Miles, Ira (Eloise) Miles, and Dora (Gerald) Thompson.

May married Glenn Richardson (deceased) on August 9, 1932, and had three sons who preceded her in death:  Gail Richardson, Wellington, Utah, Hal (June) Richardson, Amarillo, Texas, and Gerald

Richardson, Goshen, Idaho.

She is survived by two grand-daughters:  Roxie (Mike) Bassett of Providence, Utah, and Kristy Cook of Salt Lake City, Utah; 7 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

May spent her younger years living and working on a farm.  She knew the value of hard work and enjoyed farming and gardening.  After farming in Mt. Home, Utah, and Osgood, Idaho, May moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she married and was sealed to Boyd Woodhouse (deceased) in the Idaho Falls Temple.  She worked many years and retired from Slussers Wholesale as an assistant buyer.

In 1977, May married Ammon Hansen (deceased) of Goshen Idaho.  May lived a total of 38 years in the Goshen/Presto Ward. During this time, she enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful roses, quilting, crocheting, cross stitching, reading and attending the LDS Temple every week.

In 2009, May moved to Providence, Utah, to live with her grand-daughter, Roxie Bassett and her family.  May enjoyed being around her family and continued to attend the Logan Temple weekly.

Viewing and funeral services will be held at the Goshen/Presto Ward on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 12:00 and 1:00.  Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
