Nettie Lavon Hastings

Nettie Lavon Hastings, 94, of Basalt, passed away October 26, 2010 at her home.

She was born February 19, 1916 in Yost, Utah to James Benjamin and Janette May Meacham Tracy.

On February 14, 1939 she married George Danley Hastings in Brigham City, Utah.

Nettie was a care taker.  She took care of many disabled people and a family without a mother.  Later she worked for 20 years at the Driftwood Motel in Idaho Falls.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  When she was 80 years old she received her endowments in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She is survived by her children, George (Dixie) Hastings of Blackfoot; Gary (Linda) Hastings of Manga, Utah; James (Terry) Hastings, Gloria L. Mcgregor both of Basalt; Bonnie (Mike) Bates of Firth; sisters, Klea A. Nelson of North Ogden, Utah; Sharon (Don) George of Coos Bay, Oregon; Shirley Anderson of Burley; Judy (Kurt) Hunsker of Logan, Utah; 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 30, 2010 at the Firth Stake Center (823 North 675 East) in Basalt. The family will receive friends Saturday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.
