Neva Parigian Butler

October 27, 1930 — November 11, 2013

Neva Parigian Butler, 84, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away peacefully in her home holding her daughters hand on Monday, November 11, 2013 following a stroke.

She was born October 27, 1929 in Basalt, Idaho to Samuel Enoch Butler and Emily Myrtle Butler.  She was raised and went to school in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Neva

always loved to dance. As a young lady she went to as many dances as she could find and taught dancing lessons at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in California.  She loved good country music and watching her grandchildren dance around her house.

While living in California she attended College of Sequoias where she received her nursing degree.  She worked at nursing homes in California and Blackfoot, and also as an emergency room nurse in Blackfoot.

For years Neva did her own nails and the nails of many friends after attending cosmetology school and becoming a nail technician.  “Nails by Neva” was a fun hobby and she loved looking her best and helping others to as well.  Oftentimes she would do just one “fancy” nail for her young granddaughters.

Neva

loved children.  In her early years she taught primary in the LDS church.  She always had a place in her heart for those who needed an extra mom or Grandma. She loved, helped and housed many children and young adults over the years. Her love also extended to animals and her children never remember a time when they didn't have pets. In her later years she loved her 3 cats Baby Doll, Cali, and Tommy.

She always loved playing cards.  Neva loved playing pinochle and cherished her friends from the "Monday Nite Pinochle Club".  It was the highlight of her week.  She also enjoyed cooking healthy meals for herself and others, oftentimes making up a batch of rice pudding for her sisters when they were sick.

Neva

was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Parigian, sons Sam Wilcox and Marty Parigian, sisters Lillian Clark and Bonnie Burns. She is survived by her children Gayle Wilcox, (Blackfoot), Pam Winn (Bakersfield, CA), 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and sisters Nora Reeder (Burley), and Leah English (Idaho Falls).

The family would like to thank all those who made her last days comfortable.  Brandi and Neely from "Onesource Hospice",  Matthew Johnson from Lincoln Court, and Debbie Paulson from Qualiity Care. A big hug also goes out to the Idaho Falls 24th ward, the "Monday Nite Pinochle Club" and all of the dear friends and extended family who have reached out in love and support.

Her family will miss her very much.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. In case of inclement weather, we will meet at Nadler Funeral Home, 110 West Oak, Shelley.
