Norma Shafer

February 14, 1926 — May 2, 2011

Norma Shafer, 85, of Firth passed away May 2, 2011 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 14, 1926 in Clearfield, Utah to Lorin and Olive Mae Briggs Moss.  She was raised and attended schools in Clearfield.

On November 21, 1945 she married Robert L. Shafer in Ogden, Utah.

Norma was employed at RT French’s in Shelley and K Mart in Idaho Falls.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings.

She was an avid knitter and loved to crochet.  She used these talents to give many gifts to others.  She loved gardening, golfing, quilting and her beloved dog, Sandy.  She was a very special woman and will be missed by her children.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Laraine) Shafer, Linda L. (Frank J.) Fuell, Kathleen (Robert) Beckwith all of Firth; grandchildren, Lorin A. (Rimi) Shafer of Houston, Texas; Jarad (Misty) Just of Port Orchard, Washington; Frank Jay Jr. (Belynda) Fuell of Ucon; Thomas L. (Cindy) Fuell of Salt Lake City, Utah; Robert E. (Paula) Fuell of Idaho Falls; Andrew R. (Tanya) Fuell of Shelley; Scott A. (Courtney) Fuell of Firth; Charles D. Beckwith of Salem, Oregon; Brad W. Beckwith of Idaho Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday May 6, 2011 at the Riverview Cemetery in Firth.  Family and friends are invited to a Wake and light luncheon following the service from 11:30 till 1:30 at the Riverview Grange Hall.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Humane Society.
