Peggy Sue Skinner

July 4, 1947 — October 6, 2022

Peggy Skinner passed away in her Blackfoot, ID home on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Peggy never wanted funeral services as she didn’t want everyone crying over her loss. Rather than funeral services we will be having a luncheon at the Blackfoot American Legion, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Please come and share all of your amazing memories with the family and honor her life.

Peggy was born in Rigby, ID July 4, 1947, to Fay Hall and Florence Jenkins. She was the youngest child following Max, Carol, Wilma, and Dean. She has been a “fire cracker” since birth!

She has always enjoyed sharing stories. Whether it was growing up on the farm or making dinner for soldiers. She was well known for being quick witted and having great one liners to go along with her famous back scratches.

She enjoyed crocheting and not for herself but for others. She has made countless numbers of blankets that she has donated to veterans and first responders. Of course making sure her entire family was wrapped up with warmth. She loved spending time camping. In fact for a good chunk of her life worked the summers as a camp ground host enjoying living at her favorite camping spot.

Most recently she was a caregiver and boy was she a great one. All the clients that she worked with became like another family to her. She enjoyed being able to provide them companionship and friendship. She loved gathering jokes and sharing them with everyone she could.

She was always thinking about her great grandkids and would randomly show up with small gifts just reminding them that they were on her mind. Every time she visited, she snuck them their favorite candies.

Peggy is preceded in death by her grandson, Stephan Thorpe, her parents, siblings, and more family and friends than we can name.

Peggy is survived by her children: Becky Wortley, Preston Wortley, Judy Hewlett, and Annette Sellars; grandchildren: Julie Wortley, Carrie Worltey, Autumn Thorpe, Kory Wilde, Austin Wilde, and Cameron Matthews; great grandchildren: De’Andre Thorpe, Taliah Thorpe, Quinlan Wilde, and Cayslee Matthews. The list is far too long to list everyone out since Peggy often called many others family.

The family is under the care of Nalder Funeral Home.
