Ramona Lee Okelberry

February 8, 1935 — November 21, 2011

Ramona Lee Okelberry, 76, of Shelley Idaho died November 21, 2011 from an extended illness. 

Ramona was the 2

nd

of eight children of Alverna and Casper Lee.  She was born February 8, 1935 in Heyburn Idaho.  She graduated from Heyburn High School and attended beauty college in Pocatello. 

On June 5, 1958, she married the love of her life, Donald R Okelberry in the Logan, Utah LDS temple.  Shortly after they were married, they moved to Kimberly, Idaho, then Seattle, Washington, on to Detroit Michigan and in 1966 to Camden, South Carolina.  In, 1983, they moved with their family back to Idaho Falls. 

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint and served in many positions.  She and her husband also served on a Family History Mission prior to his death.  She loved living in the south, where she worked along side her husband at the logging business.  She also loved dancing, music, art, and spending time with all of her family members.  She also loved people in general.  She received the Fritz humanitarian award while working at the Idaho Falls Riverview hospital.

Ramona is survived by her sons Curtis (Lisa) Okelberry of Sandy, Utah, Denton Okelberry of Idaho Falls, Idaho.  Daughters Donnetta Okelberry of Midvale, Utah, Lydia (Mike) Potter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Pamela (Rodney) Hatton of Shelley, Idaho.  Brothers Stan (JoAnn) Lee of Sacramento, California, Lavere (Susan) Lee of Kimberly, Idaho, Donald (Irene) Lee of Burley, Idaho, Dale (Phillis) Lee of Layton, Utah.  Sisters Zelma (Ron) Oldham of Heyburn, Idaho, Marietta (Rick) Wright of Nampa, Idaho, and 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grand baby (in the oven).  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother a granddaughter and her husband.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 12:00 pm. at the Shelley South Stake Center (675 South Milton). The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. till 11:45a.m at the church. Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
