Richard Glen Moulton

October 4, 1947 — January 12, 2006

Richard (Dick) Glen Moulton, 58, passed away on January 12, 2006, in Hawaii, while vacationing with his wife. Dick was born in Moroni, Sanpete, Utah, October 4, 1947, the third of four children, to Robert and Edna Rostron Moulton. He attended school in Lark, Utah and graduated from Bingham High School, where he was a proficient athlete in wrestling and baseball.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Dick served an honorable full-time mission in Chile, South America. Upon returning from his missionary service, he completed a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Utah, but was still a BYU fan at heart.

Dick married Jeanette Katherine Lyon on June 11, 1969, in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple. Following their marriage, they settled in Firth, Idaho, where alongside his sweetheart they raised seven wonderful and successful children (Debbie, Darin, Jeff, Craig, Kristi, Shari, and Brett). Dick was a beloved grandfather and father-in-law. One of Dick’s greatest joys was spending time individually with his children and twelve grandchildren (Jordan, Ashli, Riley, Ty, Abby, Diego, Presley, Chase, Jenna, Michela, Wyatt, and Weston).

Dick worked for Health and Welfare for several years until he ventured out on his own, co-founding Court & Clinical Services. At the time of his passing, he was the current director of Court & Clinical Services, where he was a respected employer and an influential source of guidance to many wayward youth.

Dick was never one to sit still. He enjoyed playing basketball, softball, and a good game of “jam ball” with his kids and their friends. Dick was an avid fan and supporter of his children in all of their various activities. He developed his father’s love for gardening and yard work. As an avid fisherman, Dick loved the outdoors, especially being out on the water early in the morning with his wife, sons, grandkids or friends. It seems only befitting that his last moments on earth were spent admiring the nature that he so loved with his wife.

Dick was a man of great integrity that served faithfully in all of his church callings and was currently serving as bishop of the Firth Ward, where he is greatly loved and will be missed. Bishop Moulton left this world prepared to continue serving his Father in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette of Firth, his children, Debbie and JD Riggs of Cincinnati, Ohio, Darin and Barbara Moulton of Shelley, Jeff and Norma Moulton of Idaho Falls, Craig and Jacqi Moulton of Shelley, Kristi and Forrest Fischer of Idaho Falls, Shari Moulton of Pocatello, and Brett Moulton of Firth, a brother Robert (Bob) and Ann Moulton of New Mexico and a sister Linda and Ron Finn of North Dakota.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Kathy Moulton.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 18, 2006 at the Firth Stake Center (133 South Main) in Basalt with President David Clayson conducting. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 6:30 till 9:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Wednesday morning 9:30 till 10:40 at the church. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery.
